| I did sell the house by owner. It was the easiest advertisement I have ever used. The sign with my number and the web site was a huge success. My buyer looked at it on the web site and decided she wanted to buy it before she even came to the house to look all the way through. One last thing...I sold it within 20 days of first putting the sign in the yard.

I was fortunate to find a buyer who wanted to be near his grandkids who lived one block away. He responded to the sign on my fence while driving in the neighborhood.
I sensed the buyer wanted the house badly, so I was able to dig in pretty much with my asking price and terms.
The house presented itself very well and actually sold itself. Both the buyer and seller were happy after closing.

I must say that fsbo was challenging and frustrating at times, but it was definitely worth it in the end.
We ended up saving $6,000 by selling the home ourselves, which was our goal because we had only been in our home for less than 2 years. We did get a lot of calls from owners.com, and I believe the pictures helped.
It took us 7 months to sell our home, which was not too much of an issue for us because we were not in a hurry. Thanks! Emily

Bought two of the For Sale by Owner signs at Lowes. The one for the yard which was larger, and a smaller one with the arrow pointing the direction. Placed one in the yard and the other at the entrance to the neighborhood.
Sold the house in three days.

There is NO mystery nor is it difficult to sell your own home. You have to pay attention to details and acquaint yourself with some standard contracts. A good title company will provide valuable advice and guidance. YOU CAN DO IT! (and save LOTS of $$$$ in Realtor Fees.)
