I bought, and moved into a larger home w/o selling my old home first (I felt I could do needed updates and repairs easier with the house empty). Because the house is on a somewhat busy street, I took my agents' advice and bought a "house for sale" sign from the hardware store (approx. $7), and put it on my front lawn. After a few calls from the curious, and one gal that asked "how much is the rent" (??), I have a couple that absolutley love it, and am in the process of settling on a price, all after 2 weeks! I think that the $7 sign may save me about $10K in real estate commission fees!!
