I had a real estate license for ten years and must admit I am skeptical of the entire system. There are some good agents who are trustworthy and some really lazy people who hang in there somehow. I have sold two FSBO's. The second one was to someone using an buyers agent. This guy appeared to have a split personality. He would misstate what I had said several times and I had to correct him, then suddenly, I would be surprised because he understood exactly what I had meant and there it was in print. Sometimes I wonder if they do it look good. He turned out to be an excellent buyers agent and I actually would recommend him to anyone considering buying because he knew how to give and take. Just remember this. Negotiating is an art, not a science. Listen patiently and don't be greedy. Those are two mistakes I see not only in this industry but others.
