I really liked using Owners.com. Our home sat near the Hwy and we put the FSBO sign there which attracted a lot of people.

My husband made up business type cards and put them on the sign in front of our house in a plastic holder for people to take when we were not home. We let people know the price of the home, square ft., # of bedrooms and contact info. This worked really well. I would recommend it to everyone. We showed the house by appointment only.

The buyer we got for our home saw our sign in the yard and called us. He hadn’t seen any of our on-line postings. We got 2 responses to a different on-line posting and 2 responses from the sign in our yard. This is our first FSBO. Our house sold within a week. However, our neighborhood is highly desirable.

I had many viewings and phone calls from lookers using owners.com, but no one ever made an offer or negotiated with me. I made the sale from the first and only open house.

Our open house policy on the weekend is how we sold ours.

The buyers are local folks who drove by and picked up a flyer.

We listed the house on our own for two weeks in late Oct, and in mid-November added our home to the MLS system via a small fee to a broker.
We still sold the house ourselves - did not have a seller's agent - but were able to gain broader exposure via the MLS. The house then sold two weeks later.

The second open house the buyers made an offer the following day. It took us 3 weeks to sell.

Owners.com

I listed the house in August and in the second week of Nov I listed it with a realtor because it wasn't getting any action. That only generated 2 showings.

Then January 2, I got a call from a person that saw my home on owners.com. I had to tell her that I had listed it with a realtor and she had to work with him. She bought my home. Long story short: It took 4 months to sell my house. The realtor really never found anyone to buy my home or ever showed it.

Had I not listed it with a realtor I would be $12,000 richer. My advice, stick with owners.com.
