This happened in Florida. We had a prospective buyer for my property and accepted a contract. About 2 weeks later this person assigned the contract to someone else (perfectly legal). The process went sour from there. We even had contact with the lender on this loan. Unfortunately the initial buyer dragged their heals and the loan went sour. They refused to re-negotiate the contract and the buyer compromised his credit rating. We are now receiving verbal and written threats from the initial buyer and fear this person may cause harm to our home. The Sherrif is of no use.
If you are selling a home in Florida you may want to know more about this potentially harmful buyer. She is still out there and may cause more damage.
