| I'm preparing to list my home for sale, but due to intermittent travel it won't be ready to show in person until late August. I've been told the market in my area peaks in the late summer during August and September. I hate the idea of missing the chance to get the word out about my house at the start of the best selling period, but if I do list it I would have to state that it won't be available until August 20th. I'm uncertain if it would be better to wait and lose three weeks of prime selling time, or list it with the stipulation that I won't be showing it until August 20th. Does anybody have any thoughts about this?

While you are away, are you able to respond to email and phone inquiries? If so, I'd recommend getting the house on the market.
This way when buyers contact you, you can still field their questions, but then tell them personally that you are unable to show as you are out of town.
Alternatively, do you have a friend, neighbor or family member that might be able to show in your absence?

Thank you. I will be unavailable for only a few days at a stretch, so hopefully I can work with interested parties to get them a showing within a reasonable amount of time.
I'd prefer to show the home so that my neighbor doesn't find themself in an awkward position with a potential buyer.

| I heard the first two weeks when you put your house on the market are the best time to show to potential buyers. Also the summer time around July and August is the best time. I wonder how much you want to loose on the sale of your house if it is not available to show during the peak time. I hope you can sell your house on time with the market. Good luck

I would only do it when you are ready to go. You may miss a qualified buyer.
