I'm trying to move to Mexico, colima and I'm wondering how to go about finding a place to live. If I can't find a sponsored job from here, which looks likely, I may just up stakes and move. I've only ever stayed in backpacker type places, or in the dorms at the YMCA.

In your case you have tow options



You can go with real estate Agents



Agents can charge you half a month rent although I've seen agents taking a token sum of just $100 regardless of rental amount.



Or



You can find internet Site witch have providing this type facility I know that a site where you can find Mexico, US, Canada, Real States its call Corporate Housing this site providing all services like Post your Property, Property Search ,Rented Property Search etc…
