Hi, when calculating the square footage of my home is it ok to include the finished basement? I realize any unfinished space and the garage cannot be included. Thanks!

If you measure each room LxW, Add them together and you will have the sf of living space. It must be the sf that is posted on public tax record. If you are a MD home owner you may log onto sdatcert3.resiusa.org and search your criteria. The sf is posted on there. Good Luck!

You may want to talk to an appraiser in your area about that. I'm sure that they would be happy to give you this information.
