My husband and I have decided to try and sell our home FSBO. We've priced it the lowest in our community, which has roughly 9 homes for sale. I've had a buyer agent contact me and I agreed to her 3% commission. I think it will eat up my potential profit, for future buyer agents, is it taboo to inform them to add 3%?

| once your home is advertised at a certain price the realtor runs the risk of their buyers becoming aware of that price& then becoming aware their agent has tacked on a profit that comes direct from the buyers pocket. OK when it's initially factored in but could become an issue when not. I've tried 2 things, 1 simply state will work with buyers agent and ensure my bottomline can absorb any negotiating&whatever the agreed upon commission ends up being. I have also tried posting a 3% - 3.5%commission up front trying to lure in realtors giving them what use to be the norm-in both cases I have to keep a buffer on my price. but think of it this way, in most cases your educated buyer coming to you direct will see your note 'will work with buyers agent' and therefore be aware of this buffer-meaning, they know -and you want them to know- they can get a better deal direct. good luck to you.
