Can I handle all of the paperwork myself? Or should I find a lawyer to review everything?

This message was posted on behalf of an Owners.com customer who wrote in to customer support.

You can definitely handle the paperwork yourself. In fact you can order all the forms you need through Owners.com by clicking on Real Estate Forms. They let your preview the forms before buying them.(http://partners.uslegalforms.com/partners/owners/index.htm)

I recommend reading over the forms first before working with the buyer so you know what you're doing and don't have to fumble around.

If you would feel more secure, then use a real estate attorney.

Another option is to hire a real estate professional in your state that is willing to process the work for a flat fee. There are a few different companies out there that will manage all the paperwork including the offer, and managing the whole escrow process for you.
If you're in California, there are a couple companies I know of:

Mine of course: www.snsproperties.com and
Assist 2 sell: www.assist2sell.com

There are many more but that would up to you to find, especially if you're in another state.

I filled out the disclosure form which you must do in Pennsylvania. The buyer's agent arranged the closing.

We had an attorney do all the paperwork and the "behind the scenes" activities. His total bill - $600. Cost of the sign - $20.00. Happy buyers willing to wait until our new home had been completed - priceless!

We found a local title agency very helpful (Brunswick, OH). They provided forms for sales agreement, lead based paint, disclosure, etc. and answered our many questions.

Our credit union is affiliated with a Title Services agency that handled the entire closing

The buyer’s agent did most of it and there was obviously a closing attorney who did the rest.

Via a title company associated with the above attorney.
